Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op.64 3° PART Orchestra: Orchestre des concerts Colonne Director: Georges Enesco Violin: Yehudi Menuhin --- 1° PART (part1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoS4rMmUk-w
the perfect romantic work, the most beautiful violin concerto and also of the most extraordinary work of any instrument at all, Mendelssohn touched the innermost of the human fiber and got into the deepest part of the soul when he composed this splendid page, it's one of those pieces that you never get tired of listening to, brilliant Felix! (by the way Beethoven's concerto comes into a 2nd close place and also tight into 3rd Tchaicowsky's!, but definetely Mendelssohn's is something else!!!!!!!
EliEloo--Of course Enesco, Yehudi's teacher, conducts the orchestra here and he was almost like a second father to the teenager. It's a great collaboration between 2 colleagues--what a joy to have it for posterity-- a transcendent performance.
My father was also a student of Enesco in Paris, beginning 2 years after Menuhin began his lessons. SO, my feelings about both Menuhin AND Enesco are of the highest degree possible.
Just magical. The technique of Heifetz + the warmth of--well, Menuhin. Certainly recorded before 1937 when he took the famous "sabbatical" with his family.
what a joy it must have been for the teacher to conduct his superb pupil

Oh what a lovely interpetation! His plays with a bit more of an accent on his notes which isn't bad at all. Bravo!
