Yay! Chiquita! The nazis of bananas!
-
My uncle works for Chiquita! He's in charge of the bananas.

You know what I fine amusing is that bananas in order not to ripen to quickly were shipped via a "refrigerated" ship (great white fleet) ... so I guess they were telling us please please eat more bananas and do not keep in your refrigerator !!!

I think I should have a banana right now. Ah the joy of advertising.

I love this old song!
its a song from 1949 by Alberto Ribeiro and João de Barro.

@hebneh it was made originally a propaganda of United Fruit Company, of the actual "Chiquita" for people in the USA to learn how to eat bananas.

Excellent performance

Oh so nice, the good old american way. Overthowing governments, sponsoring massacres, expanding monopoly. Those were the days!
The interesting thing is, this little movie is NOT a Chiquita Banana commercial. At least, it wasn't made as one. The song - which was originally used in radio commercials - got so popular that it was recorded and performed by regular musicians, as seen here. Thus the Chiquita brand got a ton of free advertising.
