I dont know why they downgraded anything, Virtua Fighter 2 was not that graphically complex for a PS2. Dead or Alive 2 is more complex with moving backgrounds and effects etc. Must be down to lazy programming.

@CCharmanderK This doesn't look anywhere near PS2 quality, look up Virtua Fighter 4 on the PS2 compared to this.

@fctar The textures and 3D models in this game are significantly inferior to PS2 games such as Dead or Alive 2 and Virtua Fighter 4. Virtua Fighter 2 looks very primitive.
Model 2 could only handle 300,000 polygons a second.

WOW this is from 1994?
I know it has good graphics cause its in a a big arcade machine but this looks almost like dreamcast graphics...
