Fresh-faced Berlin imprint, Casual Lab, launch their new house and techno stable with a double track and remix package from a new collaborative force.

Luigi Gori came to the fore in early 2000 as one-half of the production outfit Presslaboys. Combining his background in Electro, Acid and Progressive House with partner Omar Neri's own interest in Detroit and German Minimal Techno, the pair forged their own sound, releasing records on a number of labels including Crosstown Rebels, Baroque, Stella and RAW alongside establishing their own Presslab umbrella. For Casual Lab, the Italian veteran has teamed up with one of its roster's rising stars Sin Tek AKA 28-year-old Anis Hachemi to produce an infectious techhouse floor-filler.

Tunisia-based Sin Tek entered the production realm as a technician at a local studio before a series of remix work brought him to the attention of Gori and Neri. Last year Presslab put out his After The Silence EP, which was followed up by his Hotfingers debut House Is Feeling earlier this year. Berlin stalwart Marc Poppcke offers a sultry deep house remix of the pair's debut collaboration for Casual Lab, dimming the lights and upping the groove to provide a glimpse of the city's smoldering club circuit. In 2005 Poppcke moved to Berlin to study at the School of Audio Engineering, beginning to work with Daniel Solar shortly after as Solar & Poppcke. As a solo artist he has released on Freerange, Defected, Soma and Darkroom Dubs, playing in clubs such as Watergate and Bar 25 as well as internationally.

Gog Piaf wraps up the debut EP with another crisp, polished House offering from Berlin's effervescent pool of untapped talent. Informed by nine years of classical training, Gog Piaf's productions blend technicality with a far ranging source of influences and styles enough to charm any dancefloor.

The album artwork has been commissioned by Katharina Filist and Ed Westham—an illustrator from Belarus and graphic designer from Tunisia, brought together especially for Casual Lab.
