Originally, I didn't think Johnny Lee Miller would be a suitable Mr. Knightley...but after watching Part 1 last night, I can confidently say that this promises to be the BEST screen adaptation of Emma yet! Romala Garai is FANTASTIC! Her facial expressions are great! And Mr. Elton makes me laugh every time he comes on screen - what a fop! Brilliant casting! Thank you, Masterpiece, for giving me my Sunday nights back =)

I have always thought it funny how both the actors who play mr elton and mr knightly in this Emma have played Edmund Bertram in different Mansfield Park adaptations!

Definitely the best version of Emma EVER! It is my favorite Austen novel, and this is my favorite of its adaptations, Emma's my favorite Austen heroine, and Romola is my favorite Emma! :) I'm proud to say I was named after Emma. :)

It's odd seeing Edmund from Mansfield Park appear as another character in this, but I've got to admit, this may be the best version of Emma yet.
