@blessedmommy73 that much protein as an adult can be deadly. It causes issues such as fatty liver disease and renal failure. Only pregnant females should get a 50/50 diet

@civicgrl88 really? we give them Lubias, which are 80% protein, and our beardies are buff and healthy. I have heard that they need equal amounts of greens and protein. Even our uromastyx Elvira LOVES her bug every once in awhile, and she is supposed to be a vegetarian..

@pedelpopper at 7 years old, she is too old to breed.....

@civicgrl88 please don't throw the eggs out..donate them, there are people like me out there who LOVE doing this, and we have a huge aquarium of super healthy bugs, so it doesn't cost us a thing to feed them...

@pedelpopper unfortunately, the mating of bearded dragons is..well...for the lack of a better term..rape. He will jump on her, squish her to show that he is the boss, bite her in the neck, and do his thing. He won't harm her...it's the way it's done..but do know that it's not pretty to see, and your female WILL be walking funny afterwards, especially if he gets his sharp toe in there like my male does...OUCH!

@civicgrl88 ya she loves dandelions too, but the male is mostly a meat eater he only likes to eat moving objects really lol, but ya i didnt know that they were told old to breed allready but thanks ill keep them apart for now till they back to normal lol

@pedelpopper At those ages it's not really smart to let them breed. Dragons are solitary animals as well and don't do well in the company of another dragon. It's best to keep them apart. It's good that they are more into greens. After the age of 18 months they should mostly get greens anyway. Collards, dandelion greens, endive, escarole, squash turnip greens and mustard greens are healthy choices.
