My latest DIY , a new in entertainment system for my 2008 CRV. Cost of harness $10, antenna adaptor $20, shirnkable tubes $5 , slodering pen and lead $1 and 2weeks of internet and forum reseach on how to remove my dashboard panels, wiring diaghrams , 5 stores for the exact harness.
And only 3 hours to install.

i have a 98 crv i put a single din deck in and it took for ever to get that dumb dash peice out i just flipped some screws so i can pull it out quick very good install on the double din!

Can the 1026u play video files / movies off a usb thumb drive? also what files must the video files be and how large can the usb drive be? how is it holding up ? thank you in advanced

You buy a harness suited for your car, then solder the wires to open wires of your unit , woola you have a plug and play !
easy to remove too if you have problems.

The unit is working fine, no problem yet,
I dont think you can use garmin software.
Other use IGO8 , I tried it , cool cars with headlights at night. U can put bldgs. too. But it slows it down. There's no limit on the SD card but you have to wait for it to load every time. There's no sence having a big memory when you dont use it. I have videos on my thumb drive too. I forgot what format of videos it plays, I just download every video I can find out there to see if it plays. good luck !

Its been a while since i install this, if pink is for brake control and brown is for back up , i did not connect them to any thing at all. You can ask for a harness at a car audio, stereo installers, lots of them wouldn't sell but , one will.

Thanks! You get what you pay for. Mine has good quality sound, resolution so so , GPS good for first time user, I was able to change GPS program to good one, since this is windows CE based, I never have any problem so far, Yes I can play music on SD card but not radio.
