I just got my first Akita/wolf hybrid. I've owned malamute/wolf and It wasn't an easy ownership. Malamutes and other nordic breeds are hard to train without adding the wolf to the gene pool because they are working dogs and bred to run first and think later. I've heard that Akita hybrids aren't as instinctive as the nordic breeds and are better at training. However, keep in mind that an Akita is only one step removed from the extinct Japanese wolf, and are naturaly aggressive to ppl and animals.
