Wieder Eisbären im Zoo Duisburg?

Überraschender Besuch im Zoo Duisburg - direkt hinter dem Haupteingang, ganz ohne Gitte, Wassergraben und Sicherheitsabstand gegrüß eine kleine Eisbärenfamilie alle Zoobesucher, die sich von den winterlichen Temperaturen nicht abhalten lassen. Die einmalige Gelegenheit der ungewöhnlichen Kälte und dem damit verbundenen Schneefall nutze der Duisburger Künstler Marc Margielsky, um im Zoo aus weißem Schnee unter Zuhilfenahme von Wasser und einer Kühlbox Dutzende von Eisblöcken zu fertigen, die er dann zu einem Riesenklotz zusammenfügte, u daraus Eisbärin & Co zu formen.

How long did it take you create this icebear?
Most of the time I made ice cubes. I had to from them. I mexed snow with water, pressed it,waited unit it got hard and piled it up. From yesterday mornig until now I m working on it, that means aproximately two days.
Wat do you think how long it will survive?
I dont´t know exactly, I guess a month or six weeks. This is the first ice sculpture I ever made. I an specialized on sculptures of sand and they are not very solid anyway. So I dont´t have any experience with ice sculptures.
And if starts to rain, will the icebear melt away?
No, I guess it would get an icy, shining surface.
Does that mean it will be more stable?
Yes, more consolidated, tight and more transparent like here.The snow will be even more withe than before, when getting wet from rain.
