"imagination must fill up many wide blanks" (CHARLES DARWIN, letter to Asa Gray, September 5th, 1857)

"The world of paleoanthropology is highly contentious, and scientists have been trying for many decades to sort out the murky ancestry of today's human race by comparing thousands of fossil bones and skulls. But no evidence is certain and no lineages are clear."
(DAVID PERLMAN, http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2001/07/0712_ethiopianbones.html)

David Pilbeam [a well-known expert in human evolution] comments wryly, "If you brought in a smart scientist from another discipline and showed him the meagre evidence we've got he'd surely say, 'forget it: there isn't enough to go on'." (RICHARD E. LEAKEY, The Making of Mankind, Michael Joseph Limited, London, 1981, p. 43)

"The problem with a lot of anthropologists is that they want so much to find a hominid that any scrap of bone becomes a hominid bone."
(DR TIM WHITE quoted in Ian Anderson, "Hominoid collarbone exposed as dolphin's rib", in New Scientist, 28 April 1983, p. 199)

"...the Australopithecines known over the last several decades...are now irrevocably removed from a place in the evolution of human bipedalism, possibly from a place in a group any closer to humans than to African apes and certainly from any place in the direct human lineage" (DR. CHARLES OXNARD, The Order of Man, Yale University Press, p. 332)

"The phylogenetic outlook suggests that if there weren't a Homo habilis we would have to invent one" (MILFORD H WOLPOFF (University of Michigan), American Journal of Physical Anthropology 89, No. 3, Nov 1992, p.104)

"To attempt to restore the soft parts is an even more hazardous undertaking. The lips, the eyes, the ears, and the nasal tip, leave no clues on the underlying bony parts. You can with equal facility model on a Neanderthaloid skull the features of a chimpanzee or the lineaments of a philosopher. These alleged restorations of ancient types of man have very little if any scientific value and are likely only to mislead the public.... So put not your trust in reconstructions." (EARNST A. HOOTEN, Harvard, Up From the Ape, p.332)

"...perhaps generations of students of human evolution, including myself, have been flailing about in the dark; that our data base is too sparse, too slippery, for it to be able to mold our theories. Rather the theories are more statements about us and ideology than about the past. Paleoanthropology reveals more about how humans view themselves than it does about how humans came about. But that is heresy." (DR. DAVID PILBEAM, American Scientist, 66:379, May-June 1978)

Other Quotes:
"Fossil evidence of human evolutionary history is fragmentary and open to various interpretations. Fossil evidence of chimpanzee evolution is absent altogether". (Henry Gee (evolutionist), "Return to the Planet of the Apes," Nature, Vol. 412, 12 July 2001, p. 131.)

"Modern apes, for instance, seem to have sprung out of nowhere. They have no yesterday, no fossil record. And the true origin of modern humans - of upright, naked, tool-making, big-brained beings - is, if we are to be honest with ourselves, an equally mysterious matter."
(Dr. Lyall Watson, Anthropologist. 'The water people'. Science Digest, vol. 90, May 1982, p. 44.)

  • Wow, this video is really funny. They go on for like 8 minutes about how there isn't enough evidence to support the theory of human evolution. Alright, some valid arguments. Then they spend about 2 minuets citing the bible as "evidence" for creationism. "See, our's is in a book, so it HAS to be true."

  • Why do I get the hiccups then? So far evolution is the most convincing answer to me.

  • the argument here about the inaccuracies in darwin's theories are pretty solid, but to then say that the bible contains the correct answer to the origin of man despite the fact that the bible is entirely lacking in any sort of proof - much more lacking than the theory of evolution - makes this argument lose absolutely all credibility and essentially makes this man nothing more than a common hypocrite.

  • Just had that same conversation with a friend last night. I believe you are indisputably correct.

  • Descartes is famous for saying "cogito ergo sum". He believed in God but erroneously believed that God was not subject to the law of non-contradiction. You seem to be advocating Rationalism and Empiricism at the same time which exclude each other. Our senses are reliable source of knowledge or not. The Bible teaches we are created with the capacity to study rest of creation (esp. science) and our Creator Himself (esp. Theology), but in a way limited by our finiteness and sin.

  • Did you read that in there yourself or just pick that idea off the internet? Some people argue that the genealogies in the Bible are an overview and skip generations. Are you really thinking4yourself?

  • I admit my skepticism towards my own beliefs, and you accuse me of not thinking critically enough?! You need to read up on your definitions buddy.

"I think, therefore I am" sums up all that can be known with 100% certainty, everything else is just educated guessing and probability, which means of course that I can be wrong about anything except my own existence. I'm not claiming to be infallible, I'm just pointing out that your statements are out of line with the observable evidence.

  • 6000 years by simply adding the numbers between "BEGATS". How could YOU be SO ignorant of the content of your book of "truths", and the study of same by your own kind. (Delusional Desporados)

You can do math can't you?

  • Delete for rudeness. Please rephrase.

  • Many Christians believe in evolution. They take Genesis as a polemic or literal framework. I have more sympathty with them than somebody who rejects the Bible without studying it carefully with and open mind and an open heart.
