@Jbunnyrabbit That's so true. It has worked for over two years now. I know it is a touchy subject. I know I need trims, but the truth is too many stylists are scissor happy, so I say, do small trims on occasion just to keep the ends healthy and from tangling, but don't let them near it until you r ready and you really trust your stylist. tell them what you are trying to do. I also suggest going to a stylist who has long hair already. They know what u r going thru.

@amarige25 Oh okay. Cool. I been wearing drawstring ponytails, and wigs from time to time while keeping my hair covered and moisturized but i RARELY get trims. I try to go as LOOOONG as I can without a trim. So baggying my hair is a must! Just wanted to see if your hair grew even WITHOUT getting regular trims. It seems everyone suggest getting trims every 4-6 weeks but I do mines about every four months. Works for some of us i guess. Thanks.

@Jbunnyrabbit I didn't trim often, but I did trim from time to time, but I would go every 4 to 6 months for a full trim. In the meantime, I would try to trim a little myself by putting my hair in like 4 to 6 ponytails, braiding it and looking for the ends that just didn't look right, and single strand knots. I only did this lightly because I am not trained in this and I didn't want to mess my hair up. but it does reduce tangling.

@jnbrown2011 What I would do is get your some Olive Oil Replenishing Paks at the beauty supply store and wash your hair and deep condition with those like 6 treatments in a row. For example, when you wash your hair say every week or two weeks, use the replenishing pak. It will put protein in your hair which will help with breakage. Also, buy you some extra virgin olive oil and get you a dye applicator bottle and put it in. Lightly apply it to your scalp like every 3 days and daily on your ends.

@jnbrown2011 Also, I would purchase some moisturizing shampoo and conditioners like nexxus or even vo5 moisture milks and use them. Your hair needs a delicious balance of moisture and protein to grow. Also, you can get some Elasta QP mango butter moisturizer to use on your hair. You would apply it on your hair prior to applying the oil to your ends. You only need a dime size amount and two drops of olive oil. Also, try to braid your hair up under the wig and take it out every two weeks and wash.

@jnbrown2011 You can do it sister. My hair was shot when I first started this journey. Also, take pictures every time you do your hair and store them on your computer or on your phone so you can look at them to see the progress. You can do it sister. I'm praying for you.

@gabbytube1 I experienced a little thinning in the front of my hair because I would let the wig cap fall back on my hair. It wasn't bad. To counteract this I started to make sure it was pulled down on my head correctly. If you don't know what I mean, think of this, if you wear a wig cap and then you take your wig off, your wig cap falls back a little bit. I would leave it like that if it slid back and overtime it caused thinning. This was a small price to pay for what I received in return.
