I love it when one of the set guys wacks a bucket @ 0:14 to tell them when to sway in the seaview, crude but effective, lol!

I still get a kick out of the fact that, whenever they crash into, or are near the ocean bottom, there's still light down there! You can see everything! Yes, I do realize that, if you can't see you have no show, but still, the scientist in me....

They always had a mike handy...

Oh,Mr.Applewood on Little House on the Prairie ?

Er..best CHOICE...Also, I thought Basehart was great as Nelson. One of his most famous roles was as Ishmael in Moby Dick with Gregory Peck as the Mad Ahab and some may remember his roll as Wilton Knight, the creator of K.I.T.T.! Admiral Harimon Nelson was also a scientist--a kind of Alan Quatermass meets Challenger of the Lost World novels. Other faves: Kowalski(Ski!) & Sharky. As for what Base was doing in the 2nd clip: totally losing it.

Yea, David Hedison ROCKED & he tied as best coice for Felix Lieter in the Bond Movies with the late Great Jack Lord(who was almost Kirk on Star Trek!!). As for Formula, so true, either it was Evil Genuis's fault, or the tenticaled monster or the aliens attacking FIRST the Seaview, then the world! And the Flying sub was one sweet ride! Thanks for this post. Me laf-fed!

The amazing part was that the sub was at the "bottom of the sea" but they always managed to get a new guest character on board for each episode. Basehart and Hedison were great in the show. Also liked the guy called "Chip". How can you not like a guy named Chip?
