WANT TO THINK SMARTER
IN EIGHT EASY STEPS?
HERE'S SOME ADVICE
FROM SOMEONE
WHO SHOULD
KNOW HOW IT'S DONE

STEP ONE:
GET CURIOUS
I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.

STEP TWO:
STICK WITH A PROBLEM UNTIL YOU'VE SOLVED IT OR
AT LEAST UNTILYOU COMPLETELYUNDERSTAND IT.
It's not that I'm so smart,
it's just that I stay with problems longer.

STEP THREE:
USE YOUR IMAGINATION.

Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions. Imagination is more important than knowledge

STEP FOUR:
DON'T BE AFRAID TO MAKE MISTAKES.
Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.

STEP FIVE:
DON'T GO FROM THE INTUITIVE TO THE RATIONAL PREMATURELY.
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift..

STEP SIX:
KEEP IT SIMPLE
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.

STEP SEVEN:
WHEN SOMETHING ISN'T WORKING, CHANGE STRATEGIES.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
STEP EIGHT: KNOW WHY YOU ARE DOING WHAT YOU DO.
A perfection of means, and confusion of aims, seems to be our main problem.

  • Insanity is a lack of productivity???

  • @brokennarcissist

It's a rumour propagated by the unproductive.

    That's a guess, understand.

  • Following step two alone will end ninety percent of the problem.

"goddidit" and "I give up" are interchangeable statements, psychologically. (imo)

  • @zEropoint68

Yes, I tend to agree with you.

There is nothing to say. Mobs will always be motivated by irrational hate. Nothing can be done about that. Asking people to stop and think before they launch into an attack is pretty pointless.

I've watched this & been the target of it for four years now. I still hoped that at some point YouTube will become a place where we can discuss ideas & Where it won't be about destroying other people, but discussing differences in ways that threaten no one. Not hopeful right now though.

  • I don't know if imagination is more important than knowledge, but knowledge, diverse and general knowledge is VERY important, IMO. It gives you a broad, more reliable basis for your decisions on what is true.

  • I think stupid is better. Struggling to overcome authority's influence.

  • and he believed in god...what y,gonna do?

  • Step two is one of my favorites. I like to stick with a problem as long as it takes. Unfortunately you can't do that when you work as a programmer and have deadlines.
