Mike Diana and Susie Morbid

This interview with Mike Diana and Susie Morbid was videotaped circa 1995 at his Clearwater, Florida apartment. I have no idea if they're still together, but he is the first cartoonist jailed in the USA for his work.

Interesting sidenote: his zine, BOILED ANGEL, was one of the first publications to devote a page to priests molesting children.

It was not the media, churches, nor even Hollywood, but a zinester from Florida who brought up the issue. A representative from Eckerd College, related to the Presbyterian Church (USA), testified against Mike Diana's work and said it lacked artistic value.

Presbyterian (USA) would later have a major scandal of their own regarding one of their ministers on the west coast.

@J0k0r50 Load and Reload albums. The covers are a mixture of piss, cum and blood by artist Andres Serrano. And black flags Raymond Pettibon has been doing their artwork since the late 70's.

this is the first ive heard of mike diana and i live in Australia. his art is a little like "MAMBO" art (clothing apparell). i went straight to his website to see for myself these drawings and i honestly think ive seen worse in video clips for music. just spend a day watching MTV. sadly like many great artists his art will be worth more to everyone (including the people who convicted him) after death. what a shame. what a shame on america. the so called land of the free.
