@obquest you forgot to factor the unpredictability if the weather into the equation dad. On days there is no wind mgp is most certainly not infinite, as you know yourself & a day you're not sailing is a day your probably filling your time with things that impact on bank balance significantly especially if you have to drive to somewhere to have fun.

10 knots, with the engine off.... i.e..mpg = infinity. Cost of fuel = £0.00.
Impact on bank balance = 0.
You have to use infinitely more brain cells than that required to shift a power boat throttle and a steering wheel.
So please your self under sail or please OPEC with a boring power boat :).
The choice is yours.
