@tallswede80 a man that screams after getting a knife thrown at them is pretty loud.
-
Throwing knives are quiet, and there is no shoot through.

@mg9895 Also, keep in mind that if carbon steel gets even a tiny rust spot, it can never be fully gotten rid of and will eventually spread through the knife. Not exactly the kind of knife you want to leave in the dish water. I have 4 of these and if you're looking for the best throwers, they really are the way to go. Carbon holds a edge better than most types of steel in this price range but they are really, really sensitive to rust.

@darkinertia2 not if you hit them in the throat

Just shut up and throw the dam knife dude.

They say it is difficult to shoot a man. With a gun you shoot to kill but you do not throw the knife to kill so that makes it easier.

would you say that the paracord wrapped handle is better than a rubber or wooden handle when it comes to regular knife use, not throwin?

@imaferretmaster a person with a bladed weapon is a lethal threat within 31 feet, and thats as a physical threatand not using the knife at a distance. On average it takes a person 2 seconds to sprint 20 feet AND strike. It takes around 1.5 seconds to draw a pistol and fire a shot. That gives me a .5 second edge on a guy with a knife whos RUNNING at me. I have no doubt that a skilled knife thrower could get an accurate hit before a skilled concealed carrier in the right situation

@imaferretmaster Soviet doctrine calls for knife throwing for silent disposal of enemies in CQB

im actually gonna use this knife for survival
if you think about it, this knife can be the ultimate survival knife
I have a question for all yall you have this knife... would this work as an all purpose knife? mostly cuttin up food and maybe a backup huntin knife.
i know its a "throwin" knife but hell, for under 20 bucks, its hard to say no... any input would be nice, what do yall think? only thing i can think bad about it is the paracord being dirty and becomin unhealtht, or does it wash easily?

@mg9895
It can be used for any cutting task. But it's not ideal for some things because of its shape, which is unconventional, and because of its thickness.

@tallswede80 Ralph Thorn is a combat knife throwing expert, he throws his knives spear style, or quarter spin or whatever someone wants to call it.
And yes, tomahawktree is an incredible thrower, and I guarantee against the right person at 20 feet he could hit them before they hit him, but I'm willing to bet at least a couple rounds are getting squeezed out before that knife hits them, and that is the inherent problem. The reality is any good shooter would be able to draw and shoot before he e

@imaferretmaster
You're right of course, but it's the most beautiful thing to have in your bag of tricks as an alternative, haha. Just imagine losing a gunfight because a knife slammed into your face. That would be the shock of a lifetime.

Learning how to handle and throw a knife is an invaluable skill, but you're delusional if you think you could beat a gunmen that way.
I mean you could, but you could also survive a plane crash or a head on collision at 60moh...it's just not bloody likely.

@imaferretmaster
But how many people expect you to throw a knife? They would expect you to try to get close, right?
I don't know who Thorn is, but tomahawktree has a demonstration of how fast a knife can be drawn and thrown.
