American Idol!? WTF are you talking about? Lol!! Kim's voice gas a raspy coolness to it. Nobody is saying she is fucking Aretha Franklin! Her voice is cool, she harmonizes well and when she sings you always know it's Kim Deal. She wouldn't last on American Idol, you're right. She would be laughing too hard to sing on that piece of shit show! LOL!

@0TheBestMan He's been pretty good the three times I've seen them. The only thing that annoys me sometimes is how he sometimes ad libs changes of rhythm or intonation on the live performances. Obviously they're his songs and he can play them however he wants and I like when bands sound different live. He just always seems to do a little improv which isn't as good as the original. I find Roddy Woomble does a similar thing.

What a great response. She makes 100% sense. She was the bass player. She wrote Gigantic, presented it to the band, and the whole band liked it enough to add it on Surfer Rosa. They weren't saying, "Alright, now Kim's the lead singer." They just liked the tune and everyone else made a big deal about it because it reached whatever on the pop charts.

@DickLodge68 No he didn't prove he has a "plethora of talent" over deal imho. He sang all the songs and the first song he let kim sing pretty much broke up the band cause he couldn't stand how well the reception to that was. He wasn't about to sit back and watch her take the spotlight. I keep mentioning feldman because what he does with indie rock titles is along the same lines as what someone like eric foster or max martin did and it was really britney spears who performed it.

@Vlaxitov It's not a "conspiracy", I never said that. Have you ever done anything in the music biz? They basically rape you for your talent monetarily You keep mentioning Feldman..fine but it was really Charles that performed it. Sure, Black doesn't have the greatest voice but he sang most Pixies songs and proved to me that he has a plethora of talent over Deal. Again, just my opinion.
