I got it and for me it was crap if i recorded bbc iplayer or any major tv streaming channel the stream began to lag,it is not my computer or my net speed,its that almost all tv streams are set up to combat this type of software,and any other site you can normally record and convert the video with the ask and record toolbar and its free.

I think Youtube will convert it for you. They accept a lot of different formats for uploading.

You need a flash player to play flash videos - and silverlight to play the silverlight format. I am not certain if the silverlight player will play other formats - that would be a question for Microsoft. sorry I can't help.
