they were forced to act as lesbians by their producer. It was a marketing tool. t.A.T.u is actually short for "this girl loves that girl" in Russian. They shook off the image when they had a falling out with their producer.

@TheRandomamp thanks :) someone had to say it. I am gay and grew up in a really small close-minded Christan community...and t.A.T.u. pretty much helped me come to terms with what I was feeling for my first girlfriend...the song has an amazing message deeper then guys fapping to two girls kissing...
but this is still funny too :) I just hate that people think that is what they are all about...listen to their other songs people XD

This parody is funny and I like it, but I do not like when people insult t.A.t.U because they "pretended" to be gay, just because their songs were about homosexual love between two women doesn't mean they were faking being gay. they sing about love not money...and they never "pretended to be lesbians" they had a song about lesbian love and in the video (about that love) they kissed. if it was a guy and a girl they would have never gotten so much s*it for doing it and been labeled "dykes"...it is a shame that people cant accept love for love like they do. gay or not they did a hell of a lot for teenagers struggling with being gay. their music saved lives and that is more then most artists today.
