Military bands from all over the world prepare for festival on Moscow's Red Square.:
Military bands braved heavy rain marching through the Red Square, during a rehearsal of the opening ceremony of the International festival "Spasskaya Bashnya" or the Kremlin's Saviour Tower.
The eight-day festival is expected to attract over sixty-thousand spectators.
This is the sixth time Muscovites will have the opportunity to see military musicians from various countries, performing together.
This year's festival has the most participants from countries in the Far East, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

"One-thousand-six-hundred military musicians, representatives of heads of states and security regiments will perform in the coming eight days. The festival is taking place for the sixth time, usually 10 to 12 countries take part, this year 33 countries including Russia are participating in the festival."
This year's program also includes performances by children's wind orchestras, and a performance by riders from the Kremlin equestrian school.
The military band festival will run from September 1 to 8 at The Red Square, Moscow.
