A quicky Protoss Air Rush tutorial, lot of Blizzard stuff these days, huh?

QOTD: What do you think of rush tactics?

Undoer's Answer: Cheesy but effective! It's satisfying to get out there quick and it's a sure winner if your first out the gate, but it really decimates the length of a game.

Incase you struggled to keep up with the video the Build Order is as follows: Rally Point the minerals from your nexus and start building 3 probes, once 3 probes are complete start on a Pylon close to your Choke point and keep the building worker near by to start on a Gateway once that finishes. Whilst the gateway builds, work on another 3 units and an assimilator (3 units per assimilator for maximum Vespene Gas!). Once the Gateway is complete you can build a Cybernetics Core, another Pylon, an Assimilator and 3 Probes. By this point you have hopefully been making use of Chrono boost to get Probes out quicker. If you have excess minerals make more Probes and Pylons, you want to have around 4 Pylons by the end of your Air Rush. Once your Cybernetics Core is complete you can work on a Stargate, and produce Pylons and Probes whilst that builds. During the building process of the Stargate try and make sure you have 250 Minerals and 150 Vesepene at the end of the Building Process to build a Void Ray. Once your first Void Ray is out, begin scouting for your oponnent and take out as much anti air if not all of it, then you can begin blasting through your opponents production facilities. If the attack is going succesfully set your Stargate rally point to your opponents base and lay waste to them! Strike from the skies brothers!

I've won every bot match I've used this tactic in, and 6/7 of the Multiplayer League Games I've used this tactic in, it's a winner assuming your quicker than your opponent!

  • you has no skill i hate this on sc2 toss op 2. every game a rush thats suckt fucking noobs

where can play normal??? -.- sc1 is better

  • @TheHakuboy I'm having some real issues translating this mess of a sentence. I have no skills? Yeah, that's a fair point, I probably said somewhere in the video I'm not the best player, and that the build works for me but it's not necessarily the best. Every game is a rush and Starcraft 1 is better? Starcraft 1 invented the term "Zerg Rush", although I never played the original, I find that proof enough to assume your butthurt and full of shit.

  • I've been fairly successful with this, but if the opponent is quick enough and has a bunch of marines they lay waste to that void ray before it can do much. I guess that's the risk, though.

  • @439613 If you scout early game with a probe, although it's less minerals, you should be able to figure out if this tactic would work or not.
