@LBRTRN89 I have always thought the same thing. How it is soooooo crazy how much she knew even though she really wasn't Anastasia. What's sad is that we will never know he she knew so much or if she just guessed through a lot of it and put stuff together from what she already knew was true.

According to the people who knew the person she really was, she was well read, imaginative and had a fascination with the romanov family, it is likely that she read all there was to know about them and managed to imagane the rest quite well.

Not certain wheather she truley believed that she was anastasia or if she made it up.

Apparently she was told she started off pretending to be Maria but after being told by some woman in the assylum that she looked more like anastasia, she changed her story.

Anna Anderson was not Anastasia sometime in the 90's the found the Alexi and the missing princess Anastasia died July 17 1918 that is fact. DNA from Ann Anderson showed she was not a Romanov though the source of DNA is questionable. What the real mystery is is how Anna knew so much about Anastasia it seems almost supernatural!
