American human rights lawyers who defend detainees at Guantanamo Bay face a daily struggle against US military and government bureaucracy. Often they are also accused of being traitors to their country. But David Reems, who represents detainees from Yemen, says its his patriotic duty as an American.

To bad since there "illegal combatants", the bill of rights, the Geneva Convention, the Constitution. Despite what your seeing in some of the post here, know that most Americans could give a care less what happens to the people down there. Most of us are tired of all the political correctness, and couldn't care less what Europe thinks.

Torture's true purpose: to terrorize--not only the people in Guantánamo's cages and Syria's isolation cells but also, and more important, the broader community that hears about these abuses. Torture is a machine designed to break the will to resist--the individual prisoner's will and the collective will. The US population. Americans wake up and stop this criminal behavior. The Criminal Bush Gang should be tortured using their approved methods until they confess their crimes to the world.

As a True American, I'd like to apologize to the world and the Islamic community for this complete disregard of ethics and rights.
