Oh looky here. You guys complained about what Dave said getting cut off, so I re upped it. Dave's sentiments on the GLAM scene in L.A. during the early 80s. Yes I remember it well. We played with Slayer back in 1983, when they were nobody. Any questions on who I am, just look at the videos I've posted on my channel, into what band I played with in the 80s. This excerpt was taken from the Story of Metal part 13.

  • even pantera started of as a glam band !!! i think dave is a lil upset that glam music sold 50X what megadeath did, and while dave and the boys struggle to play 1500 seat theatres, glam bands still pull in huge crowds. not all glam bands were good, kiss would be the biggest of them all. at the end, bands like kiss, alice cooper inspired many of todays metal bands.. glam or not, most glam bands had some really good songs...

  • @mammo8369 I don't think people have a problem about Pantera being glam, before CFH. Pre CFH Pantera was some pretty good music. Sounded like a cross between Def Leppard and VH. I think people have a bigger problem that they denied ever being a GLAM band. Dimebag finally admitted it, right before his death.

  • @rip2shred They never denied it, how could they, the albums were already out there. The reason they didnt like to talk about it was because theyd moved on. Dime never denied his glam roots. One of his biggest influences was KISS for example.

  • @dre79ful Maybe if the "Panterrible" page was still up, that would show you Pantera was denying it. Anyhow I never considered KISS a glam band, but a shock rock band. And yes, GLAM started with the NY Dolls, and was overdone in the 80s Hollywood scene.

  • @rip2shred T Rex started glam in 1970 with their self titled album, and even before that bowie released space oddity in 1969. the ny dolls were an early and influential glam band, but most definitely not the first

  • @wurtzat Thanx, but I don't think Dave Mustaine would think that T-Rex was a bad ass band. Bolan and Bowie had great tunes. The 80s L.A. glam bands, they looked too much like chicks, and a majority of their music sucked too.

  • idc, it's just looks, the music still rocks

  • Fucking awesome

  • Music should be a audio experience only, not a visual experience,I don't give a shit what you look like,I only care what sound comes out of your instrument.

  • I dont think glam rock sucks

sucks is better than glam rock

  • @mammo8369 You are a total fag, and a dumb one, Every place Megadeth plays is bigger than that. Metallica is bigger than any glam band, and yes glam is total gay, they were all terrible song writers and musicians.

  • glam sold 50x what megadeth did? obviously most of us used to have crossdressing issues!

  • @mammo8369 And yet, a few years later he becomes one of the best guitarists in the world, and sells 20 million copies. He stood his ground, he raped glam rock.

  • @mammo8369 Yeh but they styled themselves as glam metal but played some decent music. Where as alot of mainstream glam metal acts just played what their label told them to play. Pantera figured it out and moved on to what they wanted not what everyone else wanted
