There isn't a single piece of information on the web that tells you how configure a dd-wrt universal repeater router with a non-dd-wrt router. It's terribly frustrating. So I decided to figure it out myself. After 3 days of trial and error, some extra diligence and little patience, I've finally come to unwind the tangle of this mystery. At first thought, it never would've worked but you just have to try all the possibilities, right? Today, a friend of mine happened to ask what was it that I did that made my dd-wrt universal repeater router work or enable it to communicate with my non-dd-wrt supported router because he was planning on doing the same thing. As how most of those sort of scenarios turn out, I explained to him how I did it. I'm sure he couldn't have taken all that information in especially when there are no charts, no arrows, no bold letters saying do this, do that, there to guide him. So I thought, maybe if a made some sort of instructional video or compile a bunch of pictures that shows a step by step guide to how to set up a dd-wrt universal repeater router with a non-dd-wrt supported router then maybe that could help him set up his dd-wrt universal repeater of his own with 80%-90% success rate. Besides, if I couldn't find any information on how to set up a dd-wrt universal repeater with a non-dd-wrt repeater, neither could my friend, and I'm certain that there are a lot more people out there who are also looking for this kind of information then why not share my discovery. So I decided to make this video for everyone to see and learn from as a basic guide to how to set up a dd-wrt universal repeater router with a non-dd-wrt supported router particularly dd-wrt Linksys wrt54g and non-dd-wrt supported Belkin router F5D8233-4 v4.
