I think most people are concerned about water + CAI's. I have read in many forums that the intakes high enough to ride through puddles, but what about heavy rain dripping down the hood? well i checked the next day I noticed my CAI was completely soaked after a moderate shower, so I made a ghetto water diverter, which is very embarassing because of the work quality. Please don't make fun of my workmanship, i was working in the rain and wanted to be able to drive it later that night XD. hopes this helps someone whose thinking about installing a CAI, maybe they can make a fancier diverter

  • Thanks for showing us that man! Good to know!!!!!

  • @ChuukeseStink Yw bro. I notice the plastic shifts abit due to vibrations so if you might wanna check every once in while if you make your own diverter. That reminds me I should check tomorrow. its starting to rain abit in the bay

  • @tranrn Where I'm from, it rains alot! So i think imma go the Short Ram route, your vid convinced me. What else have you done to your tC man?

  • @ChuukeseStink Just the cold air intake and TRD exhuast for performance parts. its a nice sounding combo. Also if you plan on getting an Injen CAI that converts to short ram, its a tight fit. I had it on short ram mode for awhile and it actually sounds better than CAI, probably because the vacum is closer to the driver. no noticeable gains from the short ram though. hope that helps

  • get a Injen Aluminum air filter heat shield, and u have to worry about the water dripping down from the hood anymore :)

  • @iSciontC sorry for the late reply, but I think ill look for one and see how it works the next time i needa clean my filter. i have about 3k more to go before I clean the filter. thanks for the suggestion

  • nice diverter u got lol, rlly no need but its good to be carefull. i took out the fog lamp by my cold air and i no hydroshield, ran it threw heavy rain, followed person rlly close during rain, no hydrolock.

  • the hydro lock comes mostly from driving through puddles and things fast and stuff like that not necessarily just rain
