----------------------------------------
GOLDEN SLUMBERS

Golden Slumbers" is based on a poem by Thomas Dekker and written in a lullaby style. McCartney saw the sheet music for Dekker's lullaby at his father's home in Liverpool, left on a piano by his stepsister Ruth McCartney. McCartney could not read music at the time and was unable to read the score, and so he created his own melody and arrangement

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

CARRY THAT WEIGHT

One interpretation is that the title (and main lyric) is a reference to two people, John Lennon and Paul McCartney. In McCartney's view, if Lennon allowed the Beatles to break up, he would be "carrying the weight" for that for the rest of his life. McCartney essentially blames Lennon and Yoko Ono for the decline in the band's relationship. The second reference, to McCartney himself, is about "carrying the weight" of the band by acting as the manager after the death of Brian Epstein. Until he took on the job, McCartney had never realized how much Epstein did for them, nor how difficult it was to manage the financial side of the Beatles

Boy, you gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
Boy, you gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time

I never give you my pillow
I only send you my invitations
And in the middle of the celebrations
I break down

Boy, you gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
Boy, you gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time

POLYTHENE PAM

The name 'Polythene Pam' came from the nickname of an early Beatles' fan from the Cavern Club days, names Pat Hodgett (now Dawson), who would often eat polythene.[1] She became known as 'Polythene Pat'.[1] She said in an interview, "I used to eat polythene all the time. I'd tie it in knots and then eat it. Sometimes I even used to burn it and then eat it when it got cold."[1]

Well you should see Polythene Pam
She's so good-looking but she looks like a man
Well you should see her in drag dressed in her polythene bag
Yes you should see Polythene Pam
Yeah yeah yeah

Get a dose of her in jackboots and kilt
She's killer-diller when she's Jacked to the Hilt
She's the kind of a girl that makes the "News of the World"
Yes you could say she was attractively built
Yeah yeah yeah

-----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
SHE CAME IN THROUGH THE BATHROOM WINDOW

"She Came in Through the Bathroom Window" (written after a fan came into McCartney's residence literally through the bathroom window

She came in through the bathroom window
Protected by a silver spoon
But now she sucks her thumb and wanders
By the banks of her own lagoon

Didn't anybody tell her?
Didn't anybody see?
Sunday's on the phone to Monday,
Tuesday's on the phone to me

She said she'd always been a dancer
She worked at 15 clubs a day
And though she thought I knew the answer
Well I knew but I could not say.

And so I quit the police department
And got myself a steady job
And though she tried her best to help me
She could steal but she could not rob.

Didn't anybody tell her?
Didn't anybody see?
Sunday's on the phone to Monday,
Tuesday's on the phone to me
Oh yeah.

---------------------------------------
HER MAJEESTRY'S

Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl, but she doesn't
have a lot to say Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
but she changes from day to day I want to tell her
[ Find more Lyrics at www.mp3lyrics.org/cHx ]
that I love her a lot But I gotta get a bellyful
of wine Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl Someday
I'm going to make her mine, oh yeh, someday I'm
going to make her mine.

  • I like how even though everyones complaining about the order, no one gives this video a thumbs down, except for one fool.

  • @Decoy8 Just what i though,i be quite happy just to sit back and enjoy the music rather than moan all the bloody time about the running order. So what's the damn big deal if the songs are not in order,as i said over and over again with no one having the common sence to understand that i could not have all the songs in order because at the time of making this, you only had 10 min's of video playing time allowed.

  • @Decoy8 i care about the order beavusde the albumn is written in order. jesus fuck this ruined evrything. why the fuck could u not just put it in order it is so much better with those 5 songs in a row intertwining. the uploader ruined this shit hardcore. gay.

  • @thomasdarroch66 fuck off twart...The number of reasons for non running order.

!) The songs did not have to be in order.Buy the bloody album to hear the running order.

    2) At the time you are only allowed to have 10 minutes to each video.Hence i put the best songs in,so their did not overlap.

    3) The other reason was due to copyright!!!!!

  • Its mostly to do with copyright, are you all really that dumb!!!!!!If you dont like it,sod off.

In 1970, The Beatles tragically broke up. But what would their next album have sounded like? Well, assuming they would let George and Ringo do more writing and that Billy Preston would become a full member of the band, I've put together a collection of solo music from 1971 that I feel combines to form an album whose 40th anniversary we COULD have been celebrating this year.

  • lol is he doin the moonwalk forward at 2:42??

  • Rip the audio from this vid at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • @keeperblue well it doesnt really bother me because i will just go back to listening to the actual album the way it was intended to be heard....you see, im a beatles fan so i own their albums. i hope you do to and if you listen to it in its original form you will know what i mean.

  • @michaelvkelly1 If it's 'unlistenable' to you, then clearly you don't like the Beatles? Because thats all I can hear, the sound of the Beatles

  • @abbey2772 Correction: That suppose to be "can't play an instrument"
