Quite right, barbesj, those shoes were neither 50s style nor truly stilettos. Proper thin stilettos came in during the 1954-55 period and got progressively higher. By 1959 or so, 4 - 5" heels with winklepicker toes were the norm.

There is nothing "fifties" about those shoes. Those are crappy "retro" ones... nowhere near any mid-century shoe design! You need schoolin'.
