I would be soooo cool to be able to go First Person POV on a "Hero" character like freeman and supervise the battlefield like that!

Look up the Half Life 2 Wars Forum for the builds link! Also, typing in 'unit_create unit_(unitname)' might help getting any units (point the mouse where it can spawn). Other than that, you may need to edit building ability files to make extra units, like the strider, buildable.

The next version will support the navigation mesh system from css. You only need to type "nav_generate" in your console and wait for a while.
