September 22, 2010 pre-season match between the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins - hit by Brooks Orpik on Johan Franzen.

"Red Wings power forward Johan Franzen left the game with 1:43 remaining in the first period after sustaining a leg injury on a hit by Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik. Orpik was given a major penalty for kneeing. Franzen missed 55 games last season because of a knee injury."

Franzen wasn't seriously injured on the play. He suffered a charlie horse to his thigh and missed the following three pre-season games.

    to this comment i reply, look at the knee on knee hit by Alexander Ovechkin on Sergei Gonchar in i believe the '08 or '09 playoffs... blatant cheap shot, and yet no call because he's a so called super star...
