LOWESTOFT AIR SHOW 2008 *GRACE SPITFIRE*

Owned and flown by Carolyn Grace, this Supermarine Spitfire Mk 1X is a lovely example of its kind with a great history! Once again it wowed the crowds of the 2008 Lowestoft air festival as it now has done for a few years! The Grace Spitfire was originally built in early 1944 as a single seat fighter and served in the front line of battle throughout the final 12 months of the Second World War. As Carolyn is currently also the only female spitfire pilot in the world, this too adds to the interest of the display as she competently flies this lovely plane. With its striking white stripes and great Merlin engine sound, this classic fighter aircraft looks and sounds fantastic!!
