This is a how the music of 2071 was envisioned by film makers of 1964, as depicted in 1964's The Time Travelers starring Steve Franken and Delores Wells, Playmate of the Month June 1960.

  • Thought low budget (often using stage magic tricks to portray future technology), and now dated, I really remember this movie fondly. It had time travel, a post-apocalyptic future, mutants, a doomed space ark, free-thinking futuristic babes, and a weird time-loop ending. What else could a kid want?

The writer/director Ib Melchior (a decorated WWII vet) went on to write Death Race 2000!

  • It's heartwarming to know that the theme to Kojak has survived into the post-apocalyptic era.

  • I want one.

  • Basically, all this lumigraph was, was a sheet of rubber with light projected in from the edges. Depressing the sheet would cause it to intersect with the light. You could do something really interesting today with lasers instead of incandescent light sources.

  • It just so makes you want to have sexual intercourse!

  • lol @ bad technology

  • I think I went to a club like that once...

Anyway looks like an interesting movie.

  • I LOVE this film! I first saw it on a late-night horror TV triple movie bill back in the 1970s. That director Ib Melchior was one underrated guy! And yes, the time-loop ending is still the best one I've ever seen (Stanley Kubrick, eat your heart out!)

Speaking about B-movies, I've got one posted on YouTube right now. It's called "The Last Atlantean" and I made it for my final film project for my film course at college. How about checking it out?

    Regards,

    Brainheart Man

  • An absolutely brilliant bit of classic film, and this music has haunted me since I was a kid. Much like the film's ending, this song has looped through my memories for over 30 years.
