Within days of coming back to playing these games after a much needed break, I can already proclaim - "New Shiny!".

A day before yesterday, I hiked up to Spear Pillar in Platinum to try my luck hunting for a Shiny Palkia, since I have been unable to do so in Pearl (already caught it, and can't restart due to too many Pokémon to save).
In Platinum however, you cannot meet Palkia until you have first caught or defeated Dialga within the blue portal (unless you only pick up the Lustrous Orb), something I hadn't yet done.. "What the heck!" I think, and begin SRing for another Shiny Dialga. It is my favourite of the two Sinnoh deities after all, and my last one left a lot to be desired in the competence department.

Today, I do a dozen SRs for my Southern Island Latias in Ruby, before getting bored and switching to Dialga in Platinum. One SR.. two SRs... *ping*! Or was it 3 SRs?.. I wasn't paying attention again. Still, Shiny Dialga #2 was right there in record time ^_^

I didn't use a Synchronizer, and got Bold. Better than my last one, which was Naughty.

Ah, I'm glad it didn't come yesterday. You can imagine a sort of nightmarish scenario where your most sought-after Shiny appears before you, and then the DS freezes whilst displaying the message "April Fools!", shortly before resetting itself..

-------------------------------------

Here are it's IVs:
6-7 / 8 / 3-4 / 29 / 22 / 26-27

Umm... Oh, could be worse..

Say "cheese!" : http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc261/halcyonXlll/Pokemon%20GBA%20DS/SR%20...

  • why does it show that you have alreay caught dialga?

  • Was the other Dialga already in my party.. that hard to notice? (Go to 4:38)

I transferred it over from another copy of Pokémon, which is why it is already registered as owned.

Despite what the Manual suggests, the Poké Ball icon by the wild Pokémon's name indicates that it has been previously OWNED, this doesn't necessarily mean that the player caught it; Traded and Wonder Card Gift Pokémon count too.

  • yo bro nice gratz :p btw i need some help well first of all how do you soft reset i know it sounds stupid but i might be doing it wrong >.> basicly i save infront of giratina example and keep turning ds on and off till shiny pops up? and second what does IV stand for xD thanks.

  • You can soft-reset by simultaneously pressing L+R+START+SELECT for DS games, or A+B+START+SELECT for GBA games. Your method is right, only instead of turning the DS off and on via the power button, you would press the appropriate button combination to quickly reload your game.

You might already know, but you have to battle the Pokémon to see if it is Shiny or not. This is because their attributes are not generated until you initiate the battle.

And "IV" stands for "Individual Value".

  • I Kno But How Did U Hold It On Wun Hand And Play Or Keep It Stiil

  • . . .

Well.. I wasn't holding it, both the camera and the DS were set on a flat surface.
