This is a piece of music that follows the "retro-futuristic" concept of my other pieces in the Voyager series. This time, the voyager is a time traveller to planet Earth over a much much larger timespan than in Earthrise, starting back when life itself emerged on our planet.

Over the course of the billions of years that the Earth has existed, the continents have changed slowly but radically.

250 million years ago, more or less all the continents we know today were gathered into one supercontinend that humans 250 000 millennia later would call Pangea. At that time, dinosaurs were just about to have their era on Earth.

The word Pangea (sometimes spelled Pangaea) comes from ancient Greek and means "The entire Earth".

This video is sort of a time travel from the earliest times to today, focusing on life in its many forms.

Like Earthrise, this entire video is a collage of video clips that I've found right here on YouTube. If you are the owner of one of these videos and don't want me to use it, let me know and I'll remove it. I don't make any money on this, and no harm is intended.

As for the music, I've composed and performed this piece myself, and I hope you'll enjoy it. :o)

It is a much lighter, "happier", and upbeat piece than most of my other music. A little bit of variation never hurts. :-)

Enjoy!

Rune

  • What is the secret of this old-style, nostalgic feeling in the song? There are loads of modern electronic music out there, but there's no such feeling, not even close.

  • @tankeest Thanks for your comment! Honestly, I don't know the secret... I just create and play my music to the best of my ability the way I wish more music was. :-)

  • verry, verry nice!!

  • @rfoshaug That's great but is there a way to buy your singles in FLAC format? Mp3 is a blast from the past not to mention that it's never gonna be like a Lossless Q. file.

  • This is really cool:))

  • beautiful music, and aligned with the video! great!

  • Great Song...BUT: The and is so surprising. Simply stop.

I'am waiting for more songs of you ;)

  • Rune, this is my favorite song of everything you've done and I have to say, my favorite original synthesizer song by anyone that I've heard in a long, long time. Well done. I hope that when you finish the concept, you press some CD's so I can buy one. The last similar type of CD to come out was Jan Hammer's Beyond the Mind's Eye and this beats everything on that CD.

  • The music is fantastic, and so is the compilation of the scenes of life you chose to illustrate your message. The shot of the owl at the very end and how you "matched" it with the ending of your composition is awesome. Thank you for sharing your work with the world and congratulations:)
