Blown 8-71 383 in a 1986 Camaro Sport Coupe

Another vintage 99 video. This time of my old 86 Camaro. Unfortunately the only one I have been able to find of this thing. Also some nice burnout still shots.

For this video it had a 383, AFR 220 heads, BDS 8-71 at about 14 lbs of boost. 12 bolt rear and a very unhappy TH350 with a 10" converter. This video was on old radial tires. Second part of the video is driving past the same spot of road to see the black marks!

On ET Streets it would barely spin. Car ran a 6.70 1/8th mile - no chassis mods, stock suspension, no cage either, just motor and ET streets! What a blast!

@1981z28camaro I could place some arbritary number in the title to satisfy you, but it is a subjective thing anyway - even if I had a dyno of it. The car ran 6.80's in the 1/8th. What is important with this car is it was light, it hooked and it was a blast to drive around. It would be around 600 hp at the flywheel.

Does this thing have nitrous on it too? Looks like a plate under the carbs.

@xlelanolx It did have a nitrous plate on top of the blower but we never had a need for it. A simple pulley swap from top to bottom was all we needed when we wanted stupid power and 20+ psi. Wish I had vids from when it had good tires under it!
