pretty sure this song is about getting high with your friend or lover, and maybe having a trip or something.

sounds a little biased there, saying that 'of course, is bogus' about someone else's beliefs. on the other hand, it could be about chasing highs. assuming some other culture is full of shit, however, is not going to help you interpret the song in a more interesting way.
