We were kindly welcomed to attend to the 2011 St. John's Eve Ceremony at the bayou St. John. It was a great experience and I am appreciative of the hospitality and openness of this community!

I hope this montage of photos and audio is accepted as my humble thank you to those whom welcomed us and allowed us to participate.

Historically, this date has been venerated in the practice of Voodoo. The famous Voodoo priestess Marie Laveau was said to have held ceremonies involving Voodoo ritual on the Bayou St John in New Orleans, commemorating St John's Eve. Modern day practitioners of Voodoo have kept the tradition alive!
