  • This is pretty cool. I remember watching him back in the 70's on Channel 40 as a kid (been looking for Cap'n Mitch and Night Comfort Theater stuff for a while now).

If you have more, keep 'em coming. =)

  • Thanks. I have tons of Night Comfort, but not much Cap'n Mitch.

Wish I had some video from Big Time Wrestling, but no one seems to have anything. I do have some audio which I'll post when I get a chance.

  • Another personality I barely remember from TV 40, and even shorter on TV 58 even if it was for pitching Carlson Wagonlit Travel..

  • Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on this stuff. I didn't realize Mitch eventually did commercials for 58. That must've been in the late '80s or early '90s.

  • This show looks interesting.

  • wow i think a lot of states had their version of tv poww. we had it in new bern north carolina and it was hosted by the local news station's weatherman craig webber.

  • i think a lot of states had tv powwww. as a kid in north carolina we had tv powww out of new bern, north carolina.

  • Oh, how I wish there was more! I want my Captain Delta!

  • You know, I will easily admit that the 21st century has brought us the Internet, which allows virtually anyone to post anything they like whenever they want ...

But, dang it, I STILL want my own TV show, just like what they had in the early '80's, when local hosts still ruled and you could have homegrown stuff on the air. I miss those days.

  • I agree wholeheartedly, but wouldn't you agree, back then, our generation was typically out riding bikes, playing sports, not glued to the tv? I miss Bob Wilkins Saturday Night horror movies and ABC Wide World of Sports.

  • Hi Cap'n Mitch!

  • Listen folks, this is all we had in 1980. 4 channels...NBC, CBS, ABC and the independent station KTXL in Sacramento. Channel 31 was getting off the ground, but that was it. Of course KTXL was sold to FOX eventually... But on a lucky clear night we'd get channel 2 from SF and get to watch Ultraman and Godzilla movies.

  • Wow! In Brazilian television they've made a copy of this opening in the mid-80's! Copy, copy, total copy: song, logo...

  • Last time I saw Cap'n Mitch, the Miami Dolphins and Oakland A's were World Champions

and all us kids were obsessed with Wacky Pack-

    ages stickers.

I hope Cap'n Mitch is alive and well...many

    fond memories!
