Gerald Ford funeral service at National Cathedral - part 4 - End.
----
I am looking for the part where the black solo woman singer sang. My recording was faulty for that part. It was so beautiful, please tell me if you have it.

  • THAT BUILDING IS BIG

  • @adelgado75 NO. It's Episcopalian. No Catholics allowed.

  • Catholics refer to Protestants as "Christians" for some reason...it just demonstrates their ignorance. Obviously, anyone who worships Christ is a "Christian"- the three main divisions are Catholic, Protestant, and Eastern Orthodox. Within the Protestant group are several "denominations", including Episcopalian (same as Anglican, or Church of England), Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, etc... They worship differently, but all are Christians. Get it?So now you've learned something.

  • HE WAS NOT VOTE BY PEOPLES HE WAS PASS ON BY NIXON, COME ON!

  • @wallyman4260 ......What do you mean Catholic or Christian? Catholics ARE Christian. I am one of "them". Why do people think Catholics are not Christian? By the way,the service was Episcopal.

  • Her name is Dencye Graves. She is on youtube and is wonderful. The spelling,of her first name, iscorrect. Voice is superb.

  • @Kildruf79 Ford did not want all the trappings of a state funeral. It was his idea to have a more subtle ceremony.

  • I thought it was disappointing that Ford's state funeral was not on the grand proportion that Ronad Reagan's state funeral was. Gerald Ford had no horse-drawn caissons, no riderless horse, and not much in terms of ceremonial pomp and pagentry that we did when we had a send off for Reagan in 2004. I think that a state funeral should be done right as they have traditionally been done ever since the Lincoln state funeral in 1865 or not done at all.

  • The hearse actually belongs to a local funeral home Gawler and Sons. It is fitted for each state funeral, in fact, many "common" citizens have probably lay in the save funeral coach.

  • I feel for Gerald in asking not to have a state funeral in some ways he's got 1 if he likes it or not which is so disrecpectful to deny a man's final wish. Also about cost cutting maybe. Obama nds to cut down how many vehicles he has in the white house garage like does they need a Presidential hearse to keep at the white house what a waste of money on a vehicle which will only be used for another few yrs I am sure this hearse was used for ragan's funeral too that's why my comment is relevant
