The Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star was the first operational jet fighter used by the United States Army Air Forces, and saw extensive combat in Korea with the United States Air Force as the F-80. As one of the world's first successful turbojet-powered combat aircraft, it helped usher in the "jet age" in the USAF and other air forces worldwide. One of its claims to fame is in training a new generation of pilots, especially in its closely-related T-33 Shooting Star trainer development.

  • My father flew the F-80 in the Korean War. Unfortunately, his jet suffered AA hits on a mission and he crashed just short of his base. I was only 2 1/2 when he died but he's always been MY hero.

  • @vbsurfa Your father will also be my hero! My dad also flew the F-80 in Korea & sustained AA damage. Fortunately he survived and went on to fly the F-84, F-86, F-4 & F-104.

  • @vbsurfa He is my Hero to Bro

  • my grandpa was in the Korean war

  • @vbsurfa Sorry about your Dad but being a jet pilot in those days was about the ultimate of cool.

  • @Velvet Violator i will write it Evey chance i get. thanks.

  • @datzfast : You must have slept in yours sister´s cum for writing such a deranged crap.

Next time go shoot yourself or think twice before writing such trash...

  • @Velvet Violator yes but for an engine with a life span of ten hours i think of it as more an example of what not to do. ever, not even in a moment of desperation. so befor you go praising the fuhrer for his superior engineering i would suggest you take a second look at the P-80. even with its english inspired engine. if you can still feel the same way you have got to be a NAZI worshiper. because your beliefs are based on political feelings rather that superior engineering.

  • @fadil yes but in your british infinite wisdom you also gave engines to russia for its Migs, so thanks alot for playing both sides of the fence, sounds a lot like the NWO bankers doesnt it.

  • when i was stationed in korea 1978-70 went to suewon a.f.b. for guard duty i was in the army, saw a f-80 was cool the koreans had painted it in us air force camo.also first time i saw a-10 it was for team spirit 79

  • @vbsurfa sorry bout ur Father. SALUTE
