PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING: Horrible crash on a dangerous part of the track. WORCS at Glen Helen January 2012. I started on the 450B line, where the pile up started, and all the lines behind us got involved too. Just to top it off, once I had made up most of the positions I lost, I got a flat tire and lost all the spots again. Glen Helen, please never run the ridge that direction again.***I see a lot of comments wondering why I or other riders didnt run back up the hill to warn those still coming. First off, we're wearing heavy motocross boots...not exactly the best for quick mobility. Secondly, we wouldve had to run back to before where the dust started (visibility was about 15 at best in the dust) which was about 500 yards back, all uphill in loose silt. I figure it would take at least 3 to four minutes to cover that ground (leaving my bike behind as another obstacle) and another few minutes to get back. You can see how bad the terrain was when I tried to climb back up to the track. There was a guy standing on the track up there the next lap telling everyone to slow down, and I nearly hit him cruising along at a slower pace than I was riding at at the beginning of this video.

  • That was me on the kawi # 247. 55 secs into the video who goes flying! Only messed up the bike and my back but its getting better.

  • @KyleMercier247 if all u did was bruise up your back, you're one lucky mofo

  • Which is why i dont race in the summer.....

  • @spruland january=winter

  • Yeah, you'd have to be an off road racer to understand this scene completely. You don't yell for a downed rider to "get out of the way". You either go around or help out. That guy was a jerk. And you don't go running down a silty, dusty, downhill in your gear to warn people. Off-road racing requires independent thoughts about your own well-being in extreme conditions. Here's a concept: Big dust cloud=slow down for the pile up. I've seen it, done it, been there. It is what it is.

  • @semperoccultus1969 at least you understand it. if you want to keep living, you can;t go faster than your brakes can stop you
