Avi's encounter with controversial author, politician and born-again America-booster, Ayaan Hirsi Ali who says there's no such thing as Islamophobia. Her extraordinary life story often eclipses the powerful role she is playing in the conversation about Islam and terrorism. As she herself said recently, "Right now the media are still lapping it up: a black woman who criticizes Islam."

  • "...you can spit on freedom because you don't know what it is not to have freedom." This.

  • Avis Lewis is a classic example of the loony left. Evidently he doesn't like it muslims get their feelings hurt, but the gender discrimination and violence evidenced by Hirsi's life is ok.

  • she is powerful

  • Avi Lewis, so QUOTE UNQUOTE anti-racist, that he is in fact a total racist.

"Well, the rulers of Muslim countries don't want me to say anything mean about the horrible things they are doing to their own citizens for explicitly religious reasons - so, because those evil psychopaths are non-westerners, whatever they say must be 100% okay! Never mind what people fleeing this cesspool of horror have to say." Lewis, you're anti-human rights, ignorant, you're an ideologue and finally you're a douche.

  • Brilliant! I'm happy to see how she stood up to his unprofessional bullying by being so beautifully articulate.

  • He was unnecessarily rude to her during the interview.

  • @butchbutch66 I actually read finished the book just before I saw this video, And she was completely against the islamic religon. The point was that she grew up without democracy, so she feels as though anywhere is better than the world she grew up in. She hated the double standards of Islamic society.

  • "Right wing Dutch liberal party which was exploiting a wave of anti-immigrant sentiment at the time".

Ummm.... this is incredibly disingenuous and presented as a fact. I'm sure Ayaan would disagree with this sentence.

P.S. There is no real "right wing" party in Holland. Not like in America. They're all pretty leftist, just some more than others.

  • @ListenerOfShadows That was one powerful statement she made. It makes me think of how much rights we are granted by our government. Makes me feel patriotic for a bit.
