A short-hop L-cancelled down-air can cause your foe to flip and be vulnerable to a rest. This is a technique that has been around for some time; I wanted to know more about it, and made this video.

  • Phanna is this only when they're standing still or can it be done on the move?

  • @afghanimal519 Any instance where they are on the ground, whether or not they are moving, attacking, being shield-poked, etc. Just have to finish the drill while they are grounded

  • welcome to the falco metagame (dair > down-b)

  • @dphanna I didn't say it wasn't the proper way :P. And I see now. GJ

  • @rikzz0r I think what you two aren't realizing, is that with the ice climbers you HAVE to wait a few frames on the drill rest, due to the animation they make. Watch them, they don't dip back until that point. So consecutive combo in training or not, that's the proper way to do it..

  • @dphanna then you were just a few frames too slow with the rest, since it doesn't count as a consecutive hit. I think that's what antixanimations meant.

  • @rikzz0r But it was L-cancelled

  • @dphanna he means it wasn't L-cancelled. Lol sorry for the late boot.

  • ill remember this the next time i play someone who can't SDI

  • reminds me of the sleep combo a bit. :P (in ssb64)

  • @dphanna and one would be unable to smash DI out of it?
