"Mountain Biking" up Cottonwood Hill to Lake Pagahrit

We thought we could mountain bike from Lake Powell up Cottonwood Canyon to Lake Pagahrit via Grey Mesa on the Hole-in-the-Rock trail. Well as you can see, we have invented a new mode of travel called "mountain bike packing." If you want to follow the original pioneer trail up Cottonwood Hill through the "Impassible Country" do yourself a favor; plan on at least 2 days of hiking with no water and leave your mountain bikes home. It was an amazing experience to re-live a little of what those Mormon pioneers did but mountain bikes are not very useful in this extremely rugged wild country.
