American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell(2)

A major traveling exhibition of works by iconic American artist Norman Rockwell(1894-1978) opened at the Akron Art Museum on 10 November 2007 and will be on view through 3 February 2008. Following its premiere in Akron, the exhibition will tour nationally.

This show includes hundreds of covers Rockwell created for the Saturday Evening Post over nearly five decades, original oil paintings of some of his most famous illustrations, drawings, war bond posters and other works. Rockwell captures the American experience through his storytelling images, many of them now icons of American culture.
