heck, I'll even take it one step further and introduce psychology into the mix. Alice is obviously a rip of "alice in wonderland". Alice in wonderland was about a girl that had wandered into a place where she did not fit in at all, therefor, by that theory, would it really be a stretch of the imagination to say that alice was probably the only actual human in all of makai?

@Maduo The fact that Alice is most likely not Shinki's actual daughter, but more of an adopted child (ZUN's official works seem to point to this conclusion, from what I understand), your assumption is quite possible.

Alice was ONCE a human(Mystic square or Lotus Land story?) and then she turned to Youkai. That's a must. I know she is a magician but to be more specific, she is a YOUKAI MAGICIAN. And in this song, *SPOILERSPOILER*

shows how that she tries to deny that she likes Marisa (tsundere). The more she deny, the more she turns to like Marisa. She then confesses to Marisa. She had great times and in the end, it shows that Marisa DIED and its because Marisa's human and Alice's youkai.

Anyways, I've been thinking about it a bit.. and the conclusion I've come to is that alice is not a youkai, but a Magician. Ontop of that, her powers are that of a youkai, meaning that she's closer to being a youkai than human, which is why people consider her one. I think that it's pretty possible that under all the glitter that alice is still a human, which is why she constantly fights her emotions for marisa.
