This video documents the February 12, 2009 opening at the Deborah Martin Gallery (http://www.deborahmartingallery.com) in downtown Los Angeles. It was a group show with several artists. However, only the artworks of contemporary artist & mixed media sculptor Treiops Treyfid (http://www.treiops.com/art) are shown here. The opening was during the very popular Downtown Art Walk (http://www.downtownartwalk.com). The Treyfid pieces in the show ranged from 2D to 3D. Treyfid uses an usual assortment of materials including holographic foil, cardboard, plastic bags and bottles, and other recycled materials.

The Deborah Martin Gallery was formerly known as the Spring Arts Collective Gallery and had been going for 3 years in the Spring Arts Tower Mezzanine location on 5th and Spring st. This show was the last for that location.

Artist Biography
Treiops Treyfid was born and raised in the Chicago area. He attended The Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC. He has been a lifelong artist and his works are well-respected. He has been living in Hollywood, California for the last several years, and has a studio in downtown Los Angeles at the prestigious Crescent Creamery. He is very active in the art community of Los Angeles and participates in many shows and events.

Artist Statement
Treiops Treyfid strives to create artwork that is bold, unique, of high quality, and speaks to the age in which we live. His materials vary from the exotic to the recycled and always complement his conceptual vision. Whether through sculpture, assemblage, performance, painting, or video Treyfid's bold and focused concepts are always elegantly and efficiently realized.
