Back in my junior year of High School, it was a project to see how many uneducated people there were on this issue. Inspired by the Man Show, ah the greatness of TV influences


To the people who watch this, it was a school history project. we told them what it meant after, the petitions were thrown away to shreds... well not shreds, but thrown away, and every person in this video is now educated on the 19th Amendment, so HAH!


lol apparently my history teacher found out, and since she's the head of the history department, she told all the other history teachers, and in class, all the history teachers taught them what it was like right away and told them not to sign it .LOL

@gooldude3 No reason for confusement, b/c you can see that girl reading out the headline on the petition about suffrage at 1:15, so they would have to be ignorant to the spelling of the word as well.

@VariedInterest Not to say the state of political and historical awareness today isnt pitiful, it is. More important questions concern the two party political system and how it doesnt represent a true democratic process, and how a corporate polyarchy cant exist with democracy. All of our votes are dubious in this context.

@lilaznballaz1022 Even she wasn't quite sure, its a political fact, not a linguistic one. It's a term that has been disused for 80 years. You could catch people out on a lot of words today, because people don't read serious books for personal interest anymore, but words like this are specific to a political movement which basically culminated in the early 19th century. I think its generally accepted that everybody should be allowed to vote now, regardless of the terms used to describe it.
