@Kitiaranthalasa didnt see any sled dogs in the vid did you? how many dog owners hook thier dogs up and train them to pull sleds in alaska im guessing not that many.
You haven't seen sled dogs then. The dogs see a harness and get absolutely psyched to run, but the snow balls up between their toes and makes their paws sore and swollen. Booties protect them from this.
@cbr6864 i run my dogs on the streets in my neighborhood while wearing rollerblades because i cant run so they pull me. but the street has glass that has got stuck in my white sheppards paw before and he cried for days. soo he enjoys his shoes. my cattle dog likes the rear shoes as they help him scale the boulders we climb around here. i know he likes them because he brings them to me when we get packed for camping.
Boots can help prevent injury on rough terrain and protect against unnatural elements (like burns from summer cement or ice melt crystals people use in winter). Our dog has a horrible reaction to ice melt stuff and has actually stepped on a little cactus before so boots are super helpful. Especially when paws are one of the slowest places to heal since wounds have a tendancy to reopen.
It's rad that Ruffwear continues to improve the design since so many dog boots are just awful paw bags.
seriously its kinda over kill, dogs have been walking around your over a 1000 years with no shoes on. the only time you would need them is if you forced your dog to walk some where they didnt want to

That was absolutely adorable, what a bunch of happy dogs. Can't wait for the new leash/collars to come out, they look great.
