BN-UMNO will milk this until the next GE. PAS is caught between a rock and hard place.
Anything PAS decide will affect it's grassroot supporters and UMNO knows this very well and also severely test the alliance of Pakatan.
However in doing so, also affect the remaining supporters of MCA, MIC and Gerakan.
In other words, only UMNO has the most to gain from this.
